Agricultural program

Based on the PIP approach developed by Wageningen University, ITI and its partners are implementing an agricultural program in which farmers are guided for two years to develop a future-oriented farm. The program starts with training innovative farmers to shape their vision for their business and apply climate-resistant cultivation techniques. These farmers then train the farmers in their immediate environment, creating a repetitive improvement process in the community.

In the second phase, the farmers look at how their market position can be improved and how they can work together (in a cooperative context) to acquire a stronger market position. In doing so, we connect the farmers to selected market parties that offer a fair price to the farmers.

The third phase involves strengthening the organization of the farmers cooperatives. After an analysis, an improvement plan is drawn up together with the cooperative and training courses are given to improve strategic, operational and financial management.
