Inclusive Trading Initiative
The Inclusive Trading Initiative (ITI) Foundation is an initiative with the objective to realise economic programs in East Africa, aimed at the so-called Bottom of the Pyramid. This refers to people with the lowest incomes. Our programs aim to create sustainable employment and income for this group.
Within the Inclusive Trading Initiative (ITI) Foundation, the focus is on the development of the agricultural sector and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as strengthening companies with a substantial impact on the local economy and employment.
The agricultural program is designed together with the farming communities. The farmers are trained and coached on how to develop a future-oriented farm. We focus on techniques that optimize cultivation and make the farm resistant to climate changes. We also focus on improving the market position of the farmers.
Within the SME development program, promising young entrepreneurs are trained to develop a well-thought-through business plan. After the plan has been developed, the entrepreneurs are guided in obtaining equipment to further develop their businesses.
ITI invests in and strengthens established companies that have an impact on the local economy and employment. In our portfolio, we focus on the following sectors: the agricultural sector, production and services.
